It's been a while since I made a whole lot of kidlets. I make one or two for a special request here and there but I used to churn them out in big batches. I don't know why I don't make them all the time. They are quite fun to make and I've made so many that I find them very easy to do, too.
There are some tricky bits to making kidlets, though. I find that I have to make them either early in the day, before coffee, or late in the evening - if I'm not too tired. Making the eyes really requires a steady hand. If the eyes are bad, the kidlet is bad. They need to have well placed, shiny black eyes. Not too big and not melted in. That's very important.
I recently got a Creation Station. How I ever lived without it is beyond me. I am able to stabilize my hands really well while working on the faces. It's great that there are so many people making so many great products for lampworkers to use! It has made kidlet making much easier. So, look for many more batches of kidlets (complete with my other new passion - murrini) coming soon. These went with me to the Arrow Springs Bead Bazaar.

This entry was actually going to be on Watch Me Create but I was reading through my email and found out that WMC is coming to a close. I will miss it. But, now I can focus on my own blog a bit more which is probably a good thing, looking at the recent lack of entries. :)
I’m Lori Peterson and you can find me at loribeads.com, loriandkim.com , loribeads.etsy.com, loriandkim.etsy.com for murrini and I am also blogging here and twittering there.
